Challenge Discovery Projects, a Richmond, Virginia 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, was founded in 1980. Challenge Discovery Projects serves over 1,500 children, adolestcents and families each year. Challenge Discovery Projets achieves their mission by delivering three comprehensive and coordinated services to youth and families that strengthen their ability to achieve socially, emotionally, educationally, and vocationally.
Mission/Purpose
To improve the quality of life and livelihood of families at-risk throughout Greater Richmond, Challenge Discovery Projects provides a variety of effective services focused on substance abuse and misuse, violence and bullying prevention within our schools and community, and emotional and mental health needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community.
Services Offered
Challenge Discovery Projects offers community and school based services that include:
- Conflict Resolution
- Family Counseling and Parenting Skills
- Outpatient mental health counseling to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community
- Community Involvement
- Substance Abuse Counseling for adolescents and
families
- School based violence/bullying prevention programs for k-12
